If you feel that counselling may be useful for you, please contact me by phone, email or the contact form at the bottom of this page. We can then arrange to talk through a 30 minute assessment to see if I can provide the help and support that you need. This can be done face to face at my office, over the ‘phone or by Skype.
It is important that you choose the right person to work with and to that end the initial assessment is free so that you are under no obligation to work with me.
During the session, we will discuss what has brought you to counselling and whether I am the right person to help, and if appropriate set some therapeutic goals. If you decide that we can work together, then we will decide the best time and day to meet with a view to providing weekly sessions for a contracted amount of weeks.
Sometimes open ended (no set amount of sessions) counselling is required, but if this is the case, regular reviews would take place usually 6 weekly, to ensure that we were still working to your goals and that you were getting the most out of your counselling.
There is a disabled access to The Annexe, but if mobility is a problem for you, then I am able to provide home visits. I have worked as a domiciliary care worker for the last 5 years, so I am used to working with confidentiality in other peoples’ homes. The assessment and contracting will be the same, only I will come to you instead of you coming to me.
Sessions are available from Tuesday to Friday. I am flexible about times as I am aware that often sessions need to be outside of office hours. I can do early morning from 8:00am and as late as 7:00pm. I am also available over Skype, FaceTime and telephone.
My fees are:
Individual counselling – £35.00 per 50 minute session. Sessions for children are typically shorter at 30-40 minutes.
Home visits – £40.00 per 50 minute session.
Level 4 students doing their 40 hours personal therapy – £20.00 per 50 minute session.
Young carers – £20.00 per 50 minute session.
Book an appointment You can book an appointment online here, but if you can’t find a suitable session, please feel free to contact me to arrange something that works for you.
If you are an adult carer and the cared for person is resident in Dorset, you may be able to get 6 free counselling sessions. Contact your Carers Case Worker for a referral or see the CRISP and My Life My Care websites.
